Lin struggled mightily after joining the Raptors, and fell out of the rotation completely in the playoffs. Lin was competing for minutes with one of the best backup point guards in the league in Fred Van Vleet, but that wasn't the only reason for his lack of playing time. Lin couldn't hit anything from beyond the arc, and his body control that allowed him to finish adequately at the rim earlier in his career was not up to par.
Since having a very solid year in '15-'16 with Charlotte, where he was a quality backup to Kemba Walker while also being able to play next to him or another point guard, Lin has struggled with injuries and getting back to that level of play. He played a total of 36 games over two season in Brooklyn, and did not have a good year for the Hawks and Raptors this season due to the aforementioned struggles.
Teams with a need at backup point guard will give Lin a look, and he and his agent will look to convince teams he can get back to his level of play that he showed in Charlotte.
Potential Teams: Pistons, Hornets, Magic, Suns, Mavericks, Pistons
Predicted Contract: 2-year, $7 million (2nd year non-guaranteed) with the Pistons
*Lin was unable to find an NBA contract, and signed overseas in China
