Despite being heralded as one of the best overseas players, Wanamaker was not able to significantly help the Celtics this season, playing mostly in garbage time. Wanamaker has shot the ball well for the Celtics, hitting 41% of his threes and an eFG% of 55% (solid for a point guard), but on a very low number of attempts.

Wanamaker hasn't shown enough playmaking ability to stick around in the NBA, so financially the smart move would be to go back overseas. If he wants to stay in the NBA, he will likely have to sign a non-guaranteed or lightly-guaranteed contract and impress in training camp. Wanamaker will be a restricted free agent if the Celtics tender him a $1.6 million Qualifying Offer, which I think is unlikely.

Potential Teams: Celtics, Pacers, Pistons, Magic, Hornets

Predicted Contract: Overseas

If he stays in NBA: 1-year, $1.4 million with the Celtics

*Actual Contract: 1-year, $1.4 million with the Celtics.

Pretty expected that Wanamaker could only get the minimum, as he contributed little last season in Boston.
