Summary
Eubanks won't wow anyone, but he provides solid backup center play on both ends. He can provide some rim protection, and has a good feel for where to be on defense. On offense, he's not an elite lob threat and he doesn't stretch the floor, but he has nice hands and finishes well inside. He also rebounds well on both ends of the court, having an above-average offensive and defensive rebounding rate for his position, according to Cleaning the Glass.
Eubanks may not be someone that you want getting heavy minutes when the games matter the most, but he can provide solid backup center minutes during the regular season. Ideally, you would probably want a power forward that you can play at backup center and push Eubanks to the third center or fourth big position when you get to the playoffs, but I think there are a good amount of scenarios where Eubanks could fit in that role.
Eubanks has played well enough for the Spurs that I don't expect him to hit free agency this summer, as I think the Spurs will likely keep him around, especially considering he's just on a minimum contract.
Cap Considerations
Eubanks's $1.8 million salary for 2021-2022 is non-guaranteed, and if he is waived he will become an unrestricted free agent and the Spurs will have no form of Bird rights on him. If he is waived, teams could claim him off waivers, but would need to fit his salary within cap space or an exception to do so, as his contract doesn't fit within the minimum salary exception as it was a three-year contract.
If Eubanks becomes a free agent, other teams will have multiple ways to sign him as even teams without cap space could possibly use either of the Non-Taxpayer MLE, Taxpayer MLE, or possibly even the Room MLE to sign him. It's likely that Eubanks ends up settling for the minimum.
Potential Teams: Spurs, Hornets, Wizards, Raptors, Cavaliers
Predicted Contract: Not waived: $1.8 million
If waived: 1-year, $1.7 million with the Hornets
