2025 Free Agents - Drew Eubanks
Eubanks won't wow anyone, but he provides solid backup center play on both ends. He can provide some rim protection, and has a good feel for where to be on defense. He also holds up decently when having to defend on the perimeter after switches. On offense, Eubanks is not an elite lob threat and he doesn't stretch the floor, but he has nice hands and finishes well inside. He also has historically rebounded well on both ends of the court, having an above-average offensive and defensive rebounding rate for his position, according to Cleaning the Glass, although those rebounding rates declined a bit the past couple seasons. Eubanks may not be someone that you want getting heavy minutes when the games matter the most, but he can provide solid backup center minutes during the regular season. Ideally, you would probably want a power forward that you can play at backup center and push Eubanks to the third center or fourth big position when you get to the playoffs.
Summary
Eubanks' $4.8 million salary for 2025-2026 is non-guaranteed, and if he is waived he will become an unrestricted free agent and the Jazz will have no form of Bird rights on him. If he is waived, teams could claim him off waivers, but would need to fit his salary within cap space or an exception to do so. If Eubanks becomes a free agent, other teams will have multiple ways to sign him as even teams without cap space could use any of the Non-Taxpayer MLE, Room MLE, Taxpayer MLE, or Bi-Annual Exception to sign him. If Eubanks is waived and clears waivers, his value will likely have dropped low enough that he would only have offers for the minimum, and he may not even get fully-guaranteed offers.
Cap Considerations
