Max Cap Room
$49.4 million
$8.1 million Room Mid-Level Exception

Potential Free Agents

  • Pascal Siakam ($42.6 million cap hold, Full Bird Rights, Unrestricted)

  • Doug McDermott ($20.6 million player cap hold, Full Bird Rights, Unrestricted)

  • T.J. McConnell ($9.3 million salary only $5 million guaranteed)

  • Obi Toppin ($20.4 million cap hold, Full Bird Rights, Restricted)

  • Jalen Smith ($5.4 million player option, Full Bird Rights, Unrestricted)

  • Andrew Nembhard ($2 million non-guaranteed salary)

  • Kendall Brown ($2.1 million non-guaranteed salary)

Summary
The Pacers could have a lot of cap room in 2024, but retaining their own free agents will likely cut into most, if not all, of that room. Therefore, it's more likely that the Pacers operate over the cap.

If McConnell, Nembhard, and Brown are retained and Smith opts in, the Pacers will have about $66 million below the luxury tax and $73 million below the first apron with 11 players under contract. The Pacers could use that space to re-sign some combination of their own free agents, and/or use the full $12.9 million Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception and the $4.7 million Bi-Annual Exception to add talent.

If Siakam re-signs as expected, the Pacers will likely be choosing between re-signing Toppin and using the full MLE.
