Max Cap Room
$36.6 million
$8.1 million Room Mid-Level Exception

Potential Free Agents

  • Lebron James ($51.4 million player option, Full Bird Rights, Unrestricted)

  • D'Angelo Russell ($19.2 million cap hold, Full Bird Rights, Unrestricted)

  • Taurean Prince ($5.4 million cap hold, Non-Bird Rights, Unrestricted)

  • Christian Wood ($3.1 million player option, Non-Bird Rights, Unrestricted)

  • Cam Reddish ($2.5 million player option, Non-Bird Rights, Unrestricted)

  • Jaxson Hayes ($2.5 million player option, Non-Bird Rights, Unrestricted)

  • Spencer Dinwiddie ($3.4 million cap hold, Non-Bird Rights, Unrestricted)

  • Max Christie ($2.3 million cap hold, Early Bird Rights, Restricted)

Summary
The Lakers could technically have a decent amount of cap room, but only if Lebron opts out and leaves in free agency. If Lebron opts in or re-signs at a similar dollar amount, the Lakers could have the full $12.9 million Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception and the $4.7 million Bi-Annual Exception to add talent, but only if D'Angelo Russell opts out and leaves.

If Russell opts in, the Lakers will likely be over the first apron and only have the $5.2 million Taxpayer MLE to add talent, and could even be too close to the 2nd apron to use the Taxpayer MLE depending on what happens with their other own free agents.
